It’s time for the Yum Box update for August! This month’s journey took us to Egypt, ‘Home of the original Memphis’.
The land of dates and evidently Hazelnut spread (who knew?). We started with a very tame butter pretzel, which we probably should have used as a pallet cleanser after the tomato corn puff, which smelled just like ketchup, but did not taste good. At all. There were date cookies (which highly resembled a fig newton), chili lemon chips a green apple chewy strip and two types of wafer cookies. The fan favorite was a hazelnut wafer candy bar that they all would have eaten seconds or thirds of, if they had the opportunity. Another successful adventure as well as some time travel back to the 80s and a lesson on ‘How to walk like an Egyptian’.
Our clues for next month’s box are:
· Fantastic flora and fauna
· Toucans, tamarins and even piranha
· Passion fruit & penguins
We think it is somewhere in South America, are there penguins in South America? We will find out in September!
